Terms of Service
Last updated: June 9, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using hr-help.ca (the “Site”) or any services offered by HR Help Ontario (“HR Help”, “we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and able to form a binding contract to use the Site or book a consultation. By using the Site you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Not legal advice
The content on this Site — including information provided by the AI HR Assistant, articles, templates, and any other materials — is for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and does not create a lawyer-client or HR-consultant relationship. For advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified employment lawyer or, where appropriate, a licensed paralegal. Our consultants provide general HR guidance and do not provide legal services or representation.
4. No reliance and limitation periods
Employment-related claims in Ontario are subject to strict deadlines — for example, limitation periods for civil claims, and filing deadlines for Employment Standards Act claims and Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario applications. We do not monitor, calculate, or advise you of any deadline that applies to your situation, and you are solely responsible for identifying and meeting any applicable deadline. You agree not to rely on the Site, the AI HR Assistant, or any general guidance as your sole basis for any employment, legal, or financial decision, and to obtain independent professional advice before acting.
5. AI HR Assistant
The AI HR Assistant is an automated tool designed to provide general information about Ontario employment law and HR practices. By using it you acknowledge:
- Responses are generated by an AI and may contain errors or omissions.
- Responses are not a substitute for professional legal or HR advice.
- You will not rely solely on AI-generated responses when making employment decisions.
- You will not use the Assistant for any unlawful purpose or to harass, defame, or harm any person.
6. Paid consultations
Fees for consultations are displayed at the time of booking and are processed through our payment provider, Stripe. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled session are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session, and missed sessions (“no-shows”), are non-refundable.
Consultations provide general HR guidance only. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, result, settlement amount, or that any goal you have will be achieved. Consultants are HR professionals, not your legal representatives, and a consultation does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Where consultants are engaged as independent contractors, HR Help is not responsible for guidance they provide outside the scope described on the Site.
7. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at advisor@hr-help.ca if you suspect unauthorised access.
8. Email communications
When you create an account or book a consultation, you agree that we may send you service-related messages (such as booking confirmations, intake forms, and follow-up support) that are necessary to provide the service. With your consent, we may also send occasional updates or promotional messages; you may withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in those messages, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract content from the Site.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the Site’s infrastructure.
- Submit content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes third-party rights.
- Use the Site in any manner that could harm HR Help’s reputation or other users.
10. Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, templates, design, and software — is owned by HR Help Ontario or its licensors and is protected by Canadian copyright law. Templates downloaded for personal use may not be resold or redistributed. Templates and sample documents are provided as general starting points only, without any warranty that they are accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation; you are responsible for reviewing and adapting them, and for obtaining professional advice before relying on them.
11. No warranties
The Site, the AI HR Assistant, and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HR Help Ontario and its founders, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of income, savings, or data, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any information provided here. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Site or our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002. Some of these limitations may not apply to you to the extent that law gives you rights that cannot be waived.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HR Help Ontario and its founders, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
15. General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any service agreement for a paid consultation, form the entire agreement between you and HR Help. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
